Winter Points Announcement 2025/26

With all of the summer events now completed we now start to look forward to the winter league. However, there is still some admin required before we can finalise the standings for the summer leagues and announce our winners. There is still the opportunity to obtain points for your best Parkrun, Half Marathon and Marathon performances – in order to do this you will need to submit your best times between 1/4/25 and 5/10/25 for all distances (we will accept any October marathon time but times MUST be submitted by 31/10/25). Please submit all times to jenniferb_36@hotmail.com or via Facebook messenger to Jennifer by 31/10/25 at the latest, after which final results will be announced.

Now for the part you have all been waiting for – the winter points league. Races have been agreed as attached, with additional points available at National level events as we want to see the club represented at the highest level!

The rules are as follows:

Best 8 scores from the 15 events listed to count. In the event of any event being cancelled or postponed, we reserve the right to add an alternative event into the league if practical.

Points will be awarded from 10 down to 1, with all participants getting at least 1 point for finishing (plus any bonus points as above). Your best 8 scores will count, and prizes will also be awarded to the highest scoring V40/V50/V60 (and above if required) providing a minimum of 5 events are completed, with at least ONE of these being a XC race (Cyclists v Harriers will be classed as XC for the purposes of this rule).

You can see the full race list here – winter 25.6

There will be separate league tables for U20s as they run different races at certain events.  U20s will follow the same rules as above.  All league tables will be published alongside race reports as the season progresses.

A number of these events (West District level and above XC) require a valid SA number. If
you are not already a member you can join here – it is £24 for the year which entitles you to
enter SA events and offers a £2 discount on all SA licenced races.

Club vests must be worn for XC events and road relays – if you need one then see Mark Alexander at the club.  We prefer for vests to be worn at all events so that our club members are easily recognised, but for XC and relays it is an entry requirement.
